The Redmi Note 5 may be upon us sooner than one would have imagined. After being briefly teased by JD.com, the Redmi Note 5 has been now spotted on OppoMart website. But while the JD.com teaser left everything to the imagination, the OppoMart listing gives away all the specs and pricing details of Xiaomi's soon-to-launch Redmi Note 5.
As per the listing, the Redmi Note 5 will come with a 5.99-inch Full-HD+ display with a 2160 x 1080 pixel resolution and an unusual 18:9 aspect ratio which invariably means that the phone will be taller rather than wider, and hence come with a nearly edge-to-edge screen. The phone is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor clubbed with 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB internal storage. It will run Android Nougat-based MIUI 9 and backed by a 4,000mAh battery.
On the camera front, the Redmi Note 5 is said to come with a 12-megapixel camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel camera on the front. A previous report had hinted that the Redmi Note 5 may be powered by Qualcomm's newly announced Snapdragon 636 processor. The Snapdragon 636, based on 14nm manufacturing process, supports full screen devices with a FHD+ resolution which means Xiaomi's Redmi Note 5 may make use of this functionality.

Since the Snapdragon 636 is expected to start shipping in November, phones powered by the chipset may hit markets by early next year. There have been rumours that there will be two versions of the Redmi Note 5, one with a MediaTek processor for China and another with a Qualcomm processor for markets like India. While Xiaomi may chose to launch the MediaTek version by the end of this year, a Qualcomm-based version may happen sometime early next year.
Additionally, the alleged Redmi Note 5 was previously speculated to come with a dual camera system on the rear consisting of one 16-megapixel camera and another 5-megapixel camera.
The Oppomart listing, however, suggests otherwise as far as processor and camera specifics are concerned. Also, since Xiaomi is yet to make a formal announcement on the same, it is advisable that you take this piece of information with a pinch of salt.
