OnePlus 5T reportedly spotted on GFXBench with bigger 18:9 display

OnePlus 5T is appearing on the web every single day, and that too revealing some new information about the smartphone. And today’s leak comes from GFXBench, one of the top benchmark services for Android OS. The OnePlus 5T with model number A5010 paid a visit to GFXBench which revealed key specifications of the smartphone.

The OnePlus 5T, as it was rumoured all these days is confirmed to feature a 6-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 2160*1080 pixels. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC and will come in two RAM and storage options- 6GB+64GB and 8GB+128GB option.

However, the surprising part is that OnePlus will release the 5T with Android Nougat itself, and not Android 8.0 Oreo. OnePlus did the same with OnePlus 3T as well last year. The Chinese company might release an Android Oreo Open Beta program for the OnePlus 5 and 5T by the end of 2017. Already, Android Oreo Open Beta program is out for OnePlus 3 and 3T.

Coming back to the GFXBench listing, the OnePlus 5T will feature a better 20MP front-facing camera, as opposed to the 16MP shooter seen on the OnePlus 5. Furthermore, the 5T is expected to have a 16MP rear camera as per the listing, but previous reports suggested that it will come with two 20MP sensors- one standard RGB sensor and another 20MP sensor with a telephoto lens. OnePlus founders are already teasing the Portrait mode shots of the OnePlus 5T.

The 5T is also expected to come with a bigger battery, possibly the company will use a 3600mAh unit. The OnePlus 5 is already the best battery smartphone available in the market, and a bigger battery on the 5T will be an added advantage. The price of the OnePlus 5T is also expected to be a tad higher than the OnePlus 5, maybe at $499 for the 64GB model and Rs. 34,999 in India.

OnePlus is expected to launch the smartphone on November 16, but there’s no official media invite yet. We will keep you posted once there’s an official invite from the company.

The official listing confirms that the smartphone would be known as OnePlus 5T and it will come with a bezel-less display.

OnePlus 5T has been subjected to various leaks in the past and now, it has been spotted on company’s official website, revealing some key information about the upcoming smartphone.

The official listing confirms that the smartphone would be known as OnePlus 5T and it will come with a bezel-less display. Sadly, the listing has been taken down, but a Twitter user, @Jacky_Tech, was able to grab screenshots of the listing.

The website listing reveals the tagline of the upcoming smartphone, which is “Larger screen. Same footprint”. This means that the smartphone will come loaded with bezel-less design and it will sport an aspect ratio of 18:9, which is becoming a new standard in the smartphone industry. The tagline could also possibly mean that the company has managed to keep the dimensions and weight on the 5T similar to what we have seen in the OnePlus 5.

The photos also revealed the front panel of the device. To start with, you get a minimal top and bottom bezels, which is similar to what we have seen in other flagship smartphones, like the Samsung Galaxy S8, LG V30 and more. Interestingly, the front-facing fingerprint sensor is missing, which could mean that it has been shifted to the back panel. The right houses a power on/off button, while on the left, there is Alert Slider along with volume controls.

However, it seems that this time also OnePlus will take clues from Oppo’s upcoming R11s smartphone. Both the devices look a tad similar to each other, especially, from the front.

OnePlus has a long history of rolling out smartphones, which looks similar to Oppo devices. The original OnePlus was identical to Oppo Find 7 and same is the case of the OnePlus 5. The device has fairly borrowed the design from the recently-launched Oppo R11. What’s more intruding is the fact that both the smartphones feature a similar type of dual-camera setup, which further raises many eyebrows.
